Raper’s (Insane) Superbowl Wager

Don’t know if you heard about this…

The rapper known as “Birdman” plans on betting a staggering $5 million dollars on the outcome of the Superbowl.

(He’s betting on New England btw…)

His actions aren’t surprising.

He once told Forbes that he tries to wear…

…at least $1 million of jewelery per day.

Why am I telling you this?

Simply because…

When I heard about it, it reminded me of a lot of marketers.

They gamble with everything they do, and hope it’ll pay off. They throw money around and pray to the gods they make an ROI. Instead, here’s a better plan of action…

Measure EVERYTHING you do.

Know how much a lead is worth over time.

Know the exact conversion rates of your squeeze pages.

Know the days of the week when your prospects buy most.

You want to be almost obsessive about your statistics. Like Gollum from Lord Of The Rings, your metrics are “your precious!” Nobody tries to take away your precious.

Funny thing is…

Most marketers have heard this a thousand times.

Yet almost everyone DOESN’T do it.

It’s absolutely astounding.

As marketers this is among the highest dollar-per-hour activities imaginable.

And fortunately for us…

Most of the “hard work” is done on auto-pilot.

(So long that we do the set up our analytics.)

When you understand your statistics, you are in control. You’re not gambling with your money. And, you can make smart, timely decisions that will grow your business effectively and without much effort.

All truly successful marketers will tell you the same.

Your metrics are like your compass.

Without it you’ll be drifting…

…most likely ending up lost, confused, and broke.

So in short: MEASURE EVERYTHING.

Don’t gamble.
