How A 3 Year Old Can Double Your Business

Time for a little Q&A.

Let’s jump in…

QUESTION: “Robert, how in the world do you manage to stay on top of everything to run your business without going insane? I can’t seem to find the time or energy to get everything done.”

Let me ask you a question.

Have you ever noticed how a 3 year old takes on the world?

Specifically…

How they’re either fully engaged or completely unplugged?

How they live ENTIRELY in the moment?

I don’t mean “zen” or meditating…

One minute they’re running around like a crazy person — enjoying the heck out of their game of tag. The next they’re crashed on the couch taking a nap.

It’s black or white.

Engaged or unplugged…no in-between.

Kids are doing what they’re doing, when they’re doing it…

…and not doing what they’re not doing, when they’re not doing it.

How’s that for a brain teaser?

Listen.

The reason so many people always live in a state of chaos is because they’re not engaged in what they’re doing.

They simply have lost their ability to focus.

(I blame it entirely on Kim Kardashian…but that’s another story)

Focus is like a muscle.

And most people’s “focus muscle” has atrophied from:

CONSTANT INTERRUPTIONS.

(I was fortunate to learn this concept at an early age from the master of time management. See his revolutionary system here — http://www.theintelligentinternetmarketer.com/toolbox)

We live in a world of never ending static and noise.

So here’s what I recommend you do:

Work in focus, **uninterrupted** blocks of time.

Start small (20 minutes or so).

Work your way up to an hour or longer.

And for God’s sake turn off ALL sources of interruptions. Log off Skype, Facebook, and Twitter. Silence your cell phone. And, turn off any email “ding” notifications.

Now…

Time to get to work.

Work HARD.

And when your timer goes off, you’re done.

Think of it like a sprint, not a marathon.

Work when you’re working.

Relax and rejuvenate when you’re not.

Master these simple skillz and you’ll instantly double (or triple) your productivity.

Me needs some more caffeine.
