I don’t know how you feel about it…

But I love it when someone can teach me something AND make it fun at the same time.

(Too bad most professors fail miserably at this!)

But not everyone is born with the gift of being interesting. The more interesting you can be, the more money you’ll be able to get your hot little hands on. Here’s the important part:

If you can keep your prospects interested – they’re much more likely to cough up some dough.

I hear ya.

“I’m as interesting as watching paint dry! What in the world do I do!?”

Well, lucky for ya’ll I’ve prepared some tips on how to (at least) appear like you’re not a complete snooze fest.

Here we go:

1.) Read Cosmopolitan

Yuppers. This includes you too guys.

Cosmopolitan hires some of the best copywriter’s in the world — and you can certainly learn a thang or two from this unmanly mag. I’m not sayin’ you need to buy a subscription (although it wouldn’t hurt!)…

But you should take a minute or so to glance at the headlines while you’re in line at the grocery store.

(…QUICK! While nobody’s looking!!)

2.) Watch standup comedy

Here’s a fun and easy way to learn from masters.

Turn on Comedy Central and watch how comedians deliver their jokes.

Appreciate their timing, inflection, and setup.

Personally, I’m a die hard fan of stand up comedy.

I could watch it all day.

Here’s a short list of my favorite comedians: Chris Rock, Daniel Tosh, and Demitri Martin.

3.) Spend more time on Digg.com

An amazing resource for marketers and people aspiring to be more interesting.

Essentially you can read the minds of people around the intro-net by seeing what they voted as the most interesting.

Digg is usually one of the first sites I log onto in the morning…plus it helps me find new ideas for my daily emails!

** 4.) Seek 1st To Understand

This one should probably have been listed as numero uno.

It’s that important.

As we’ve talked about before, people don’t give a CRAP about you…they care about themselves!

So, always START by attempting to understand them first.

I realize this is tough on the internet. But let me just say…

When you “get” your prospects (their fears, frustrations, and desires) they will be magnetically attracted to you like Kim Kardashian to overrated athletes.

5.) Always leave ‘em wanting more

Hollywood and the publishing industry are masters of this little “trick.”

They always leave you wanting…wait for it…wait for it…

…STILL wait for it…

More!

What they do is they open up a “curiosity gap” that you HAVE to know what will happen next.

6.) Be yourself – warts and all

Yea, you’ve heard this a gajillion times before.

But I want you to be yourself, warts and all.

Instead of hiding your flaws, put them on display. Be okay with your imperfections. People find that endearing and authentic (unlike the hoards of cavemen that haunt the internet only caring about extracting cash from your wallet.)

If you’re a dork – be all like, “Yay! I’m the dorkiest person in the world!!”

Make it your unique thing that people can relate to.

Ham it up and display your strengths (or weaknesses!)

Trust me, this is what keeps people comin’ back for more.

Well, that about raps it up for today.

Have you ever played that game “Whack-A-Mole?”

You know… the one where all those moles pop up out of their holes and you have to hit them over the head as fast as you can?

When you think about it, doesn’t it kind of remind you of spammers?

Annoying pop-up ads.

Lame supplement “free trials.”

Crappy “push-button” software that will make you a bazillionaire overnight.

Ugh.

When will it end?

Let me get to the point…

When was the last time you bought something from a spam email you got?

When was the last time you were “converted” by the door-to-door religion salesperson?

I’m sure some spammers are making money – otherwise they WOULDN’T keep doing what they’re doing.

But, what they don’t realize is…

They can make a lot more moo-lah (and feel good about it) by actually helping people…

Instead of trying to trick them!

All you need is some basic skillz and you can easily make a living on the ol’ intro-net.

Personally, I’ve just about had it with all the garbage on the internet.

Big promises, little results.

That’s why I’ve compiled my favorite tools (that I use almost everyday) in one area for your benefit:
